It’s not the most fancy solution I’ve seen but it gets the work done. I started by visiting the Skype Knowledgebase but that’s just a thin collection of questions with very short answers. However, they refered to the Skype forum. Obviously you can write in that forum even if you don’t have anything to add to the subject so you find a number of “works fine for me” which don’t helped me much. Finally I found a post from ‘mloskot’ with some substance. He refers to his own post in the Ubuntu forums where he writes how the problem can be solved. The problem is to install 32-bit librarys on a 64-bit system. The solution is for Ubuntu and other Debian-based distributions. If you read along you’ll see another solution posted by ‘rhaurison’, haven’t tried that one though.
