Nice printer

Monday, September 11th, 2006

Today I finally changed the cartridge in my HP LaserJet 1200. The cartridge, part number C7115A, gave up after not less than 5158 pages. The C7115A will cover 2,500 pages at 5% so I’m very pleased with my 5158 pages. Now I’ve changed to a C7115X instead, 3500 pages at 5% so I should be able to get about 7000 pages with this one.

Going to buy new printer? Laser? Go for a HP printer, that’s my advice. Going to print photos? Go for an Epson instead.

Reflection on The Matrix

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

Sat in front of the TV and zapped between the channels when I found out that the movie The Matrix was on. I have seen the movie several times before but never reflected over that the problem scenario that the whole movie is based on is actually some what what we are trying to realize in the real world. We do see more and more simulators and advanced chat programs that probably will end up in digital rooms where you can stroll and talk to other people that is there. I’m sure that we will see this kind of chat programs in the future. The interesting part here is how it will affect the way we socialize in real life.

One reason of why we prefer other ways to communicate today is probably because a pure text chat can’t supply visual reactions or sound that contribute with alot of information during a conversation. That’s why we still prefer the phone or an IRL meeting. Will this change if a chat room can show the person we are talking to? Then the only thing that is missing is the smell, can we manage without that? Maybe to some extent but there is probably still nothing that beats going to the pub with your friends.

Sweden goes for general election

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

… and the whole society turns into some kind of bad reality show. The focus is on throwing dirt at eachother and it’s hard to focus on what’s really going on. Is it like this in all countries when it’s general election? Lots of political parties and nothing to vote for. Just try to keep the focus from the politics and focus on some core subjects that they can lie about until the election is over. Then everything is over and they can spend four more years preparing for the next reality show.

In the middle of the politic chaos some girl from Austria get alot of attention in the media - why? I can understand if people in Austria want to know, but come on! A girl in her shoes should be home with her (new) family, bond and deal with the mental efforts that she probably suffer from.

Over and out!
